Bluetree To Begin Work On Follow Up Album

Dec 07 2009

Belfast based worship band Bluetree, who's spectacular first album 'God Of This City' has proven to be one of the most successful debut albums of recent times, have announced that they will shortly be starting work on their second album.

'God Of This City' was a huge hit in the US, holding top spot on the US Christian Retailing Chart for four consecutive weeks. Originally released in the UK under the title 'Greater Things', the album was re-released following its US success under the name 'God Of This City'.

Bluetree were catapulted to people's attention after Chris Tomlin included a version of the song 'God Of This City' on his best-selling album 'Hello Love'. It became the anthem for the 2008 Passion World Tour and opened the door for Bluetree, the song's original authors, to tour extensively in both the US and Europe. Bluetree are part managed by former Delirious? manager Tony Patoto who has a wealth of experience in promoting bands in North America.

Writing on their Twitter page earlier today, the band said "Bluetree are taking their first steps toward new album soon. We are gonna burst!!!". No further details are known at this time, but as the follow up to such a popular first album, interest in the new album is expected to be intense.

Bluetree will be performing a concert alongside Hillsong United in their home-town of Belfast on 26th May 2010 at the Metropolitan Tabernacle.
