Guryel Ali Releases 'Look Up' To Bring Hope In Midst of Covid 19 Pandemic

May 18 2020

Guryel Ali, an Australian singer/songwriter/pastor who was born in the UK, this week re-issues his island/reggae-feel tune, 'Look Up'. "Look Up presents a timely message that reminds us to look up and be of good courage," Guryel says.

“As we face the uncertainty of the coronavirus in your families and communities, remember God’s most frequent command to humanity: fear not, for the Lord is with you,” he adds. Guryel wrote the song as the opening theme to Pastor Steve Cioccolanti’s YouTube Channel.

If your household is anything like Guryel Ali’s, your family is experiencing a disorienting period. News of rising coronavirus infection rates and deaths across the globe, physical distancing measures, panic buying, travel bans, self-isolation, rising unemployment, plus school and workplace closures. In times of uncertainty we humans tend to respond with worry and fear.

“Guryel Ali” is pronounced Gur-i-el as in ‘Muriel’ (remember Muriel’s Wedding?), and Ah-li like the American boxer.
