LTTM Awards 2009 - The Results

Dec 17 2009

The votes are in, the counting has been done, and we can now officially announce the winners of the Louder Than The Music Awards 2009 as voted for by you!

And the winners are...

Jars Of Clay - The Long Fall Back To EarthBest International Album:
Jars of Clay 'The Long Fall Back to Earth'

Delirious? - My Soul SingsBest British Album:
Delirious? 'My Soul Sings'

Jars Of Clay - The Long Fall Back To EarthBand of The Year:
Jars of Clay

Jars Of Clay - The Long Fall Back To EarthSong of The Year:
Jars of Clay 'Weapons'

So, Jars of Clay dominate the awards this year with a stunning 3 out of 4 awards! Well done to them! We suspect this may have had something to do with the band kindly (and some might say, rather sneakily!) giving the awards a gentle little plug on their website and twitter page. Clearly it paid dividends for them, as their fans flocked to vote for them in every category they were nominated in. But the awards couldn't have gone to a more hard working and deserving band, who's superb album The Long Fall Back to Earth scored a near perfect 4.8 out of 5 stars in the LTTM review this year. We are sure the band will be equally as proud to win in the first ever LTTM Awards as they were to receive the numerous Grammy and Dove awards they already have to their name! No, really.

Let us not forget the other winners this year, the long-serving British band Delirious? can add an LTTM Award to their distinguished careers as they bow out this year with their stunning live album My Soul Sings.

You voted in your hundreds, and we would like to thank each and every one of you who took part. We'd also like to thank all the artist involved, without them none of this could have happened. Well done to all of you.

Don't forget, you can listen to tracks from the winners on this week's exclusive LTTM Radio Show - just click the play button at the top of this page.

Of course next year LTTM will be back stronger, bigger and better, and no doubt the awards will be expanded in 2010 to cover even more categories.
