Take A Moment

Jan 14 2010

Louder Than The Music have been championing Compassion from day one. It is a charity that is very close to both mine and Dave's hearts. We both sponsor children through Compassion and would urge you guys to consider as a youth group, church or individually to sponsor a child. 'What is Compassion?' I hear you cry.

Compassion International is a Christian charity that was founded more than 50 years ago. It helps to support children in some of the poorest situations and countries in the world. In fact, Compassion now helps more than 1 million children in 25 different countries. They help to save these children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enable them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults

In September 2009 LTTM held its own Compassion week, where we had the honour and privilege to interview Sheiba who is a former sponsored child who grew up in extreme poverty in Uganda, but her life was changed forever thanks to the work of Compassion. Please read the interview here.

All I ask of you guys is if you would spare a moment to consider sponsoring a child via their website. Please head over there by clicking here.

UPDATE - Haiti Earthquake
As you're probably aware, there is a terrible situation developing in Haiti after the country's worst earthquake in 200 years. In the wake of widespread damage with hundreds, if not thousands dead or unaccounted for, it's vital to act without delay. Compassion are sending funds to help in this situation immediately. You can help Compassion by giving generously to the Haiti Relief Fund: www.compassionuk.org/haitiappeal

Thank you for your time.
