Franni Cash has now released her new EP which features six free spirited modern pop tracks that all tell a story. The song has this banjo, soft country style that for me, made it feel like an instant hit, even after the first listen. With it's catchy chorus and easy to pick up melody, this song has all of the making of a perfect summer anthem single that will be enjoyed all summer long.

The modern country sound of the opening track 'Good Woman' is a song about trying to fit into an unrealistic mold of being what a Good Woman looks and acts like. It's a playful track sharing stories of three different women and is co-written with Brian Elmquist and Bryan Dawley. It would be too obvious for me to say it sounds very Taylor Swift, but it does.

'Church Clothes' is another wonderful upbeat modern pop song about coming to Jesus as you are. The song musically sounds like old school rock with modern pop twists. For me it was like a sound between Alanis Morissette and Sheryl Crow. But I think there is much more to this song than being a simple pop song, this song has a story to tell, And Franni wants to tell it to all. Personally I love the chorus lines of "It ain't about the church clothes , It ain't about a big show, It ain't about the doin' up to measure up, To earn the love, Lord knows".

The theme of the EP continues with the catchy track 'Misfit'. Again Franni talks about being accepted as you are. I love the beat of 'Koolaid' it really drives the song forward. The spirited track is a great pop-rock driven song with a message of hope for those who have had negative experiences with organized religion. Franni explains, "This is about those moments when faith feels clouded by confusion or hurt, but deep down there's still a desire to find the joy."

I really love the chilled feel of 'Wildflowers', which has this banjo, soft country style that for me, made it feel like an instant hit, even after the first listen. With it's catchy chorus and easy to pick up melody, this song has all of the making of a perfect summer anthem single that will be enjoyed all summer long. The EP ends with the gentle piano ballad of 'Anywhere' which has some lovely chord choices, added to that the vocals of Franni and you have an epic closing EP tune.

A really wonderful collection of songs with a running theme through them all. The sound is upbeat pop chilled music at its best. Franni Cash knows how to write a song and these six songs are no different. If you get the opportunity to catch Franni live next year, please do.
