Think Tank is a musical collective formed and fronted by singer/songwriter Roderick Masih.
Since starting of as a singer/songwriter project in 2012, Think Tank has grown, now delivering a highly textured and memorable live performance. The band have decided to release three EPs within a quick time frame of each other. The first EP will be called Faith, the second Hope and the third EP will be called Love.
Each EP will consist of two tracks, but I was luckily enough to get all three EP's in one bundle, so I have decided to review them as a collection of quality...

Since starting of as a singer/songwriter project in 2012, Think Tank has grown, now delivering a highly textured and memorable live performance. The band have decided to release three EPs within a quick time frame of each other. The first EP will be called Faith, the second Hope and the third EP will be called Love.
Each EP will consist of two tracks, but I was luckily enough to get all three EP's in one bundle, so I have decided to review them as a collection of quality songs.
The first track I got to listen too was the track 'Angel' which really does set the whole tone of the band. The song has a lovely sounding acoustic guitar topped by some lovely lyrics and a unique and exciting vocal that speaks directly to you. This raw acoustic sound is fresh and exciting all in the same breath.
The raw acoustic sounds continues in the track 'Have My Heart', again this song is in the same vain as Angel, but with the added strings providing a wonderful texture to the song.
'Plans' has some wonderful harmonies, lyrics and creative music that leaves the listener wanting more. It's another strong offering from Think Tank. We then move to the song 'Rat Race', which has a deep bass and some lovely finger picking guitars. The song has this darker side, which adds extra spice to this brilliant track. The vocals pick up this sense of urgency as the song slowly grows, getting more and more intense.
Another strong factor on the EP collection is the way the band use the lyrics so well to convey what they want to say. You never feel like the band have wasted a line, every word is there to make the next line work. These are stories or opinions the band put over clearly in word, just listen to the songs 'Why' and 'These Lights' to get a small idea of what these guys are all about.
This creative bunch know how to pen a raw and interesting acoustic song that will be played again and again once you get these tracks in your record collection.
If you're looking for gentle coffee shop acoustic songs, then look no further than these three EPs. What would the band sound like with a bigger band sound? Hopefully we will find out in the future, but until then this organic sounding EP is a wonderful treat worth a listen.
