Audacious are the worship band associated with Audacious City Church, Manchester. Bounce is an album comprised of tracks recorded for their high power, heavy rock worship events. Never having heard of Audacious or any of their work, I didn't know what to expect - and what I found was very different to what I had expected. I was hoping this would be the new wave worship I would love, but sadly it sounds very raw - and not in a good way. The melodies of the tracks seem very complicated and would not work as a song you could be singing while in your bedroom. You will not find this style of worship anywhere around the country at the moment and there is a reason for this.
Title track Bounce has to be the worst track I have ever heard from a Christian album in 10 years - it's basically just a 2009 version of 'Jumping in The House of God' (WWMT).I was equally unimpressed with the vocal work, which just sounded lazy and uncreative. While this album may appeal to some, it didn't to me - although the production of the album is great!
