Soul Survivor have been pushing the boundaries of worship for years, pushing forward the view that worship is more than music, more than a style, more than a genre. It has been the main focus and theme of their summer festivals over the last ten years, giving opportunities for young people around the UK to worship God through Music, Art & Prayer.

It has been the main focus and theme of their summer festivals over the last ten years, giving opportunities for young people around the UK to worship God through Music, Art & Prayer.
Worship isn't one style, genre or sound, and what this album does is to take seven well known worship songs, remix them with dance and electronica beats to create this new forward thinking album from Soul Survivor. The album follows on from 2009's Soul Survivor Remixed which featured songs from Tim Hughes, Ben Cantelon and Lex Buckley.

This year's CD is no different, great dance beats overlaid with lyrics from some great contemporary worship songs. For me, I really think these songs could rival anything from a club or that is in the charts today. With the every increasing Christian Dance scene getting bigger, stronger and bolder, these songs are a great addition.
Starting off with the track Never Stop Singing, which is from the new Tim Hughes album, this upbeat number really sets the tone of the whole album. What follows are the songs Hosanna, Beautiful, Jesus Saves, Savior of The World and the amazing Found In You, which is one version you have to hear.
Taking on the role of remixers are Dave Plumb, Ardent Al and The Milkman. All three do an amazing job at taking well known songs and making them sound different yet without messing around too much with the original. Dave & Ardent bring a more happy-dance club beat with their four songs, but The Milkman takes on the task of remixing the slightly slower You're Beautiful and Hosanna and he does a really atmospheric dance version of both songs, not speeding the tempo up but adding a lot of electronica atmosphere to the songs.
Of course the words dance beats, remix and club music might put some people off, but with the majority of the charts being made up of dance songs, a large number of people are really enjoying dance music at the moment. So for Soul Survivor to take a bold step forward and enlist some great DJ's to remix these well known contemporary worship songs is a great move. So get up off your feet and worship the amazing creative and diverse God. These anthems are a great tool and a move to show Christians have more than one style and way to worship God.
