Songwriter Ken Goodwin has released a deeply moving new single under his Goodwin Made project, a song that reflects on grief, faith, and the quiet struggles many people face alone.

The song was inspired by a heartbreaking experience that deeply affected Goodwin personally. About a year ago, one of his employees lost her 12-year-old son after he had been struggling with bullying. Witnessing the devastation that followed left a lasting impact and ultimately inspired Goodwin to write a song exploring the difficult questions people often bring to God in moments of deep loss.

The bridge of the song captures that raw emotional tension:
"I tell God that He failed me,
Then I beg Him not to leave.
I curse Him through the heartache,
Then I fall down on my knees."

Those honest lyrics reflect a conversation with God that many people experience in the midst of tragedy, wrestling with doubt, anger, and heartbreak while still searching for hope.

Bringing those words to life is an extraordinary vocal performance by Jaime Arin, whose emotional delivery elevates the song's message and gives voice to the depth of pain and faith woven throughout the lyrics. Arin's performance carries a fragile honesty that allows listeners to feel every line, particularly in the song's powerful bridge, where grief, questioning, and surrender collide.

Her voice moves seamlessly between vulnerability and strength, transforming the song from a personal reflection into a shared emotional experience. Through her performance, the lyrics become more than words, they become a prayer, a cry for understanding, and ultimately a whisper of comfort.

Goodwin hopes the song can help bring awareness to the growing crisis surrounding youth mental health, bullying, and suicide. In connection with the release, he is also encouraging people to learn about resources available for those who may be struggling, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, which provides free and confidential support 24 hours a day.

"If even one person hears the song and decides to reach out for help," says Goodwin, "then it's worth it."

The single continues Goodwin Made's tradition of blending emotional storytelling with themes of faith, hope, and redemption, reminding listeners that even in the darkest moments, they are not alone.
