Formed between 2012-2014 in Stoke-on-Trent by guitarist and vocalist Peter Szczepanski (formerly Peter Field of Senseless), Peter118 are known for their high-energy punk sound influenced by bands such as The Ramones, combined with openly Christian lyrics delivered through pubs, rock venues, and grassroots performances across the UK.

Die For You' was written as an Easter-themed worship song. Peter said the intention was to create a simple, direct worship track that glorifies God and Jesus, blending punk, rock, and metal while keeping the message clear and focused.
The song centres on the Christian message that Jesus loves people and died so they can have eternal life, featuring lyrics such as "
Jesus, saviour, lover of our soul" and "
died for you, for me, died for everyone to see."
