Award-winning faith-based Midwestern Rock artist Howard Gripp releases 'When I Was A Kid' on Friday, Oct 23, the third release from his forthcoming full-length album 'Welcome To Your Life', following the release of the title track plus second single 'I'm Not My Yesterday'.
'When I Was A Kid' features additional vocals from Benjy Gaither, son of Gospel music's legendary Bill and Gloria Gaither, and is a song Howard has dedicated to his mom. "This song is very personal to me", he explains. "It's about growing up knowing who Jesus was, walking away from that foundation, making some bad choices, and eventually finding my way back home.
I wrote it as a thank-you to my mom for introducing me to Jesus when I was a kid. Looking back, I realize the foundation she gave me never really left - I just had to find my way back to it."
'Welcome To Your Life' will be Gripp's first full-length album, produced entirely by Billy Smiley and recorded in Nashville. The project represents Howard's most ambitious work to date, building on the momentum established by two acclaimed EPs that have collectively earned more than 500,000 Spotify streams, multiple national music awards, and growing recognition throughout the Christian music community.
