Kairos Announce Plans For UK REACH Tour
Norwich band Kairos are embarking on a UK tour with the aim of reaching out with their music to Christian and mainstream audiences. The 'Kairos UK REACH Tour' will take the band through a diverse range of venues over a sustained period of gigging up to the end of the year, from church and village halls, along with Christian festivals through to mainstream Pubs and Bars as well as touring band venues. There are also plans to cross the pond in 2011 with a mini tour of the USA, climaxing with a performance at one of the big US Christian Festivals.
In March the band will be visiting Atomic Studios, London to record their third EP, likely to be titled 'Unify'. In working alongside acclaimed producers and song writers The Animal Farm (The Levellers, One Night Only, Rosalita) the band are confident in delivering a recording of the highest standard. With an anticipated release in early June, Kairos have set an ambitious objective of gracing the official UK charts.
Talking about their hopes of entering the UK charts, band member Jonatas Neves (Keys) said: "To maximise our influence in the world as Christians, we need to be unified together. The new song Unify is all about that. If we can achieve 1500+ downloads of our next single, we have a chance of hitting the top 100 chart." Jon Neves (Drums) continues, "If we do this, it would be amazing. Its about time to have more Christian presence in the UK chart, people need to hear songs of hope on the radio."
Having recently reached the final of a regional band competition The Next Big Thing, along with performing at several high profile Christian events, it is clear that Kairos have a sound and repertoire to be appreciated by all.
The band have recently teamed up with ethical music management concept Manic Vision to help build their profile and fan base, so Kairos are now able to do their job of writing and recording new material, as well as perfecting their trademark professional live performances. The resulting strategy provides the band with a focus aimed at achieving their goals, with ambitious priorities of securing a recording and publishing deal, along with a slot with a reputable booking agent. Said Lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Aaron Pimlott: "It is fantastic that we have a management deal now taking care of the promotional and business side of the band, leaving us working to our strengths making fresh new music. Carl from Manic Vision totally believes in the music we are currently making, so its great to have someone on board with the faith to invest in us."
With several high profile UK artists with a Christian focus disbanding in recent times, Carl Hitchborn of Manic Vision feels that there is a fantastic opportunity for Kairos to make a stand: "There are very few bands out there that have the quality to break through the mainstream as well as deliver music that touches Christians. With several large Christian bands (in particular 'Delirious') no longer on the tour circuit, there is a real opportunity for Kairos to capitalise. I have every faith that as a group of people we can deliver on the objectives we have set, it really is an exciting time ahead."
Kairos are in the process of booking shows for the UK REACH tour, and with a number of dates already booked in, the band are in particular looking to book more gigs at Church venues.
