Review: Various Artists
Survivor Soundtrack
If I was asked by a friend or family member to create a collection of the best Christian music around at the moment or over the last few years, the selection of songs picked by Kingsway on this new album Survivor Soundtrack would have made it onto my compilation too. The album includes 12 amazing songs by Brenton Brown, Matt Redman, Delirious?, Eoghan Heaslip, Rend Collective Experiment, Ben Cantelon, Tim Hughes, Cathy Burton and loads more inspiring songwriters and musicians.
Â
These songs have been hand picked from some of the best albums around at the moment, tracks from albums like Ben Cantelon's 'Running After You' and the sublime album of the moment 'Organic Hymnal' which was written and recorded by the Northern Irish band Rend Collective Experiment. What I found was that all of these songs can be used in your personal time of worship, imagine walking down the street with your mp3 player playing out this album and I am sure these tracks will lead you into a time of praise.
Â
With any compilation there is always a worry you might have most of the albums that these tracks appear on, but if you want to show a friend or family member the styles and sounds of the Christian music world, then this 12 track collection could be well worth buying for them. One stunning moment of this CD has to be a softer acoustic version of Brenton Brown's 'Adoration' which for me is one of the main highlights of the album.

These perfectly picked tracks will inspire, stir, excite and lead you into worship, and that’s what makes these kind of albums exciting. This album is well worth a listen to if you want to find out more about these artists, if you haven't already bought any of their albums, or of course as a perfect present to a new Christian wanting to know more about some of the great bands around now. The best of the best songs that are around at the moment.
