Interview: Mark Peterman
Mark Peterman has released his new Christmas Holiday single, 'His Gift', and he took time away from his role with Trail Rider Ministries to talk to Louder Than The Music about what inspires his music, and his plans to release more songs in 2023.
For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got involved in making music?
Got my first guitar at a very young age and have been playin since. Always believed in God but when my walk with Him got close and understood the gift from His son for eternal life I received. That is when the song writing started and God has blessed me with it since. All Glory and honor to Him.
Tell us about your new single 'His Gift' and what the inspiration behind it was?
I wanted to share the story of our Lord's birth to all others in music!
Do you have any plans to release more music in the near future?
Yep, I have released some in the past (Redeemed) and others. I have several new releases and even a full video song coming after the first of 2023 on into the summer.
What message would you like people to take from your music?
That it draws them all nearer to our God and His son Jesus!
How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?
Cowboy and Counrty. Grew up on Michael Martin Murphy (which I have done a few concerts with) Charlie Daniels, Haggard, Eagles, Vince Gill, Charlie McCoy (personal friend) as well as Don Fransico, Keith Green, Suzie McNtire (personal friend) even palyed and opened for several .
If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?
Don Francisco, 'cause he writes from scripture and the heart just as God has shown me to write the same, from His word. life's walk with Him and the Heart. Ian Tyson and Gordon Lightfoot,
How would you define success in your career as an artist?
Amazingly blessed by God!

What does the next year hold for you?
Several new releases as well as live concerts, church services, Cowboy and Rodeo events, Rodeo Bible camps for the youth and several other opprtunities God gives to share His word and what Jesus Christ did for us!
