Christian Hard Rockers Red Letter Rising Address Depression With 'Better Days'
Christian Hard Rock band Red Letter Rising have released their latest single 'Better Days', available now on all music platforms.
"Better Days is about my struggle with depression", admits the band's frontman David Bean. "For a little over a year, I battled severe depression and panic attacks. I felt like I was losing my mind. I wrestled with the idea that as a Christian I shouldn’t be struggling with things like depression and anxiety. But I was. I was stuck in a dark place in my head that had me believing I was no good to anyone, but also believing that God had a plan for my life.
It’s like I knew I would eventually get out of it, but it still felt like I never would. I was just hoping for better days. This song is my way of trying to encourage others who are struggling with things like depression and anxiety to focus on the good things. Even if you don’t believe it right now. I am so thankful that I had my guitar and MacBook.
I was able to find comfort and healing in writing music. And now, I have songs like “Better Days” to listen to, and reflect on what God has brought me out of. It’s interesting to see how a song I wrote to help me during a dark time in my life, can now be used to help someone else in their life. You can overcome it! God didn’t save us just to abandon us!"
Red Letter Rising, consisting of David Bean on lead vocals, Luke DeMoss on guitar, and Dave Rourke on drums, signed with Broadhead Music Group in January of 2022. 'Better Days' is their first release of 2023 following last year's singles 'Truth of Life', 'Serenity's Last Call' and 'Identity: Christ Is'.
