Interview: Zach G Wilson

Feb 08 2023

Zach G Wilson just released his new single 'Wisdom & Truth', and Louder Than The Music chatted to this exciting artist about what inspires his music, and his plans to release more new music this year.

For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got involved in making music?

I’m a 24 year old, British-American musician and I’ve been writing songs since I was about 14 years old. After giving my life to Christ in 2020, however I determined to begin using my music to bring glory to Jesus and make Him known. I have a YouTube ministry with my wife (@3strandcord) where we share about our faith journey and am part of the worship team at my local church. However my first ministry is as a husband to my beautiful wife and father to my 6month old daughter.

Tell us about your new single 'Wisdom & Truth' and what the inspiration behind it was?

I wrote this song, almost prophetically about 2 years ago shortly after meeting my (now) wife. I say prophetically because the lyrics have never resonated as much as they do in the season of life that I’m in now. As a new father, I often do find myself crying out to God for His wisdom and guidance as try my best to steward this wonderful new life.

Do you have any plans to release more music in the near future?

Yes. This single is part of a worship album that I’ll be releasing later this year. I will also be releasing another EP. Along with some other singles and collaborations.

What message would you like people to take from your music?

The Kingdom of Heaven is now & Jesus is Lord. You are known, you are loved. Be reconciled to the Father through the blood of the Lamb.

How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?

My Music has elements of Acoustic R&B with rap, soul and folk .

I would also say that The Bible & music that my mum played to me growing up such as fleetwood Mac, don mclain, tracy chapman, bill withers are some other influences.

If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?

I would love to work with Claudia Isaki and Sarah Jurers.

How would you define success in your career as an artist?

Preaching the gospel, providing for my family.

What is your favorite album of all time?

Holy Place by Revere. I will never tire of that project.

You're stuck on an island, it's hot, you only have enough battery life left to listen to one song on your phone. What track is it?

I don’t want to leave by William McDowell.

What does the next year hold for you?

God willing it will be packed with collaborations, new projects and events!
