Review: Veetacore
The Monopoly EP
Veetacore are a band you will be hearing more about in the future I’m sure. Made up of drummer Dan Cook, singer Becky Rewse and guitarist Tom Clay, this British three-piece have just released their three track debut EP 'The Monopoly' which is packed with quality from start to finish. The band recorded the EP with Paul Burton (Snow Patrol, Delirious?) and producer David Evans (Paul Oakley, The Plymouths), both of whom add their quality to these superb recordings.
Dan Cook adds some amazing beats and rhythms to the songs, which can especially be heard during the opening track The Battle of Dogger Bank and last track Planets.
Vocalist Becky has a beautiful voice; she can sing like she means it and with passion, yet at the same time has true feeling, emotion and clarity in her singing. Add Tom on guitar who seems to have a complete full guitar sound from just him on guitar, playing some great riffs filling out the songs, and you have a beautiful sound.
This EP has three very good tracks on it, all of them holding their own, but the one that jumps out has to be Planets. In my opinion it's the complete song with a catchy chorus and exceptional drum beats. If I had to compare Veetacore to any band in style, it would probably be Paramore, this can be especially heard in the powerful rock sounds of Taize which will get you jumping around like nothing else matters.
This three piece band have created a full, comprehensive, complete sound on this EP, adding their own creative style to the three tracks. They have really thought about how they wanted these songs to come across. This band have been creative while recording these tracks and should be commended.
