Regina Vandereijk Releases Christian EP 'Love Called Her Home' and Album 'The Lord Is There'
Singer-songwriter Regina Vandereijk, originally from the mountains of North Carolina and currently residing in Gouda, Netherlands, has recently released two singles, "Mighty Water (Midnight Moon)" and "Oh Jesus." These tracks are part of her EP titled 'Love Called Her Home', which was released on September 20, 2024. Regina's upcoming album, 'The Lord is There', is set to be released on January 24, 2025. Leading up to this album, she has also released two singles: 'Wake Up Boy' and 'Waters of the Deep.'
Regina's musical style is deeply rooted in the traditions of the Southern Appalachians, blending elements of folk, gospel, blues, and country with pop rock. Her music draws inspiration from the Bible and her personal experiences with God. Each song reflects the command in Ephesians 5:19 to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to communicate through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Both her EP and her album aim to encourage believers and promote spiritual growth, serving as tools for seekers to encounter Jesus and believers to find solace in their faith.
The title track of her EP, "Love Called Her Home," reflects Regina's journey of salvation and transformation, telling a story of redemption following personal struggles and sin. The album includes deeply personal content, particularly in songs like "Wake Up Boy," which addresses themes of repentance and hope. Another track, "Two Become One," symbolizes a wedding dance between Jesus and His Church while also representing Regina's marital journey, including her experiences with infertility.
Regina's dedication to her music is rooted in her upbringing in a large family of artists, where she engaged in various artistic and athletic endeavors. These experiences, combined with her faith, have significantly shaped her music and its ability to resonate with listeners.
“Love Called Her Home” is a four-song EP that tells the story of struggles with shame and fear, repentance and forgiveness of sins, baptism, finding true freedom in Jesus Christ, and the ultimate hope of Christ’s return through the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, “You must be born again.” This EP shares the artist's testimony of how she experienced being born again.
“The Lord Is There” is a 10-song journey through the Bible that narrates the story from the beginning: God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, made humanity to seek and find Him. However, all mankind has sinned and become enemies of God. In His mercy, God calls us to turn away from sin and invites us to embrace Him, where forgiveness and peace are available through Jesus Christ, who is God incarnate. He came into the world to die for our sins and rose from the dead after three days, conquering sin, death, and hell. Believers in Jesus are encouraged to persevere in faith, as Jesus promises the power to overcome challenges. This power lies in intimacy with God. Believers are called to be witnesses to the revelations God brings into their lives and to be preachers of righteousness, warning others of the day when Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead, revealing the secrets of every human heart. This album conveys the message that Jesus will return and emphasizes the importance of being prepared for His return.
Regina’s musical releases will be accompanied by devotionals that provide deeper insights into the Biblical inspirations behind her work. Her artistic efforts extend beyond mere entertainment; she aims to connect with audiences on a deeper level. Through her music, Regina hopes to assist listeners in their pursuit of Jesus and their understanding of Biblical truths.
“The Sound of the Bride. What does she sound like? What does she look like? I’m just a piece of that Sound, but I’m calling out to other musicians and artists to walk in Word and Spirit on two legs on their way to our Eternal Home. As followers of Jesus: we are just foreigners, sojourners, strangers in this world but we are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses. Fellow foreigners, brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers in the Family of God. So, we hold unswervingly to the faith that we confess, because He who promised is faithful. We will reach our destination. Jesus promised that we will overcome by the blood of the lamb and the Word of our testimony. This is the core message of all the music in this project. Jesus is coming back, and we need to be prepared. We all need a Savior to lead us into the New Heaven and the New Earth, and that Savior is Jesus. The name of the New City is Yahweh Shammah, which means ‘The Lord is There.’”
