Nyasha Munashe Releases First Single 'PARTY'
The first official single release from Nyasha Munashe ‘PARTY’ is inspired by the role of Christian faith in American politics and history. A bold commentary questioning Christians getting caught up in politics, especially the recent US presidential elections, PARTY is certain to ruffle a few Bible Belt feathers!
"With a focus on bipartisan politics in America, PARTY encourages people to think deeply about the things we are fed by political circles. There is a massive contingent of professing evangelical Christians who believe Trump is the one to restore American Christianity. PARTY is a challenge to think deeper beneath the surface and see flaws within that.” expounds Nyasha on the powerful message of his debut single.
"PARTY is primarily a hiphop song with some jazz influences hence the saxophone. Inspired in style by a few Kendrick Lamar songs, Ab-Soul, Childish Gambino and Lecrae, Nyasha wanted to create a fine upbeat instrumental as a backdrop to the song’s hard-hitting message.
A fan of hip hop since the age of five, learning to memorise lyrics of his favourite artists, Nyasha began to write his own music. Nyasha gained confidence and assurance that writing is what he is meant to do after coming to faith in Jesus at 19. He began writing consistently and sharing on social media, now working on his first album God Smiled On The Hood Today planned for release in June 2025.
Hip hop artist and writer Nyasha (23) was bornand raised in Zimbabwe, moving to the UK in 2020 during lockdown. Currently based in Cardiff, Nyasha is doing a Masters degree in Media, Journalism and Communications. When not in the studio Nyasha is reading, writing and reflecting or pursuing other creative projects with friends.
