Sabrina Hilaire Releases Inspiring New Single 'Breathe'
UK Gospel artist Sabrina Hilaire shares her deeply personal and spiritually uplifting new single, "Breathe" a soul-stirring track rooted in Acoustic R&B and Soul. Written during the pandemic and now brought to life for 2025, "Breathe" serves as a heartfelt anthem for mental health awareness and healing.
Sabrina originally penned "Breathe" in 2020 while working as a music business tutor for young people with additional needs and mental health challenges. "Breathe" was revisited and reimagined in 2024. The song produced by Femi V delivers a powerful message of slowing down, acknowledging emotions, and embracing the importance of seeking help when needed. Rooted in faith, "Breathe" conveys themes of hope, healing, and renewal. Each note and lyric reflect an intent to bring comfort and restoration to listeners. It was during this time she began to understand the depth of mental health struggles.
“I had never really acknowledged mental health struggles before working in this area. Then, during the lockdown, I found myself experiencing anxiety. Writing became my outlet and my healing process.†- Sabrina Hilaire
The accompanying music video, filmed with a Samsung phone and edited by Sabrina, exudes an organic and relatable feel. The video was filmed in both the UK and Gambia and visually captures a journey from struggle to restoration. Opening with scenes of challenge and concluding with celebrations of freedom and renewal, the video highlights the peace and joy found in overcoming adversity. Gambia’s peaceful landscapes provided the ideal setting to complement the song’s uplifting message.
Sabrina’s plans for 2025 are ambitious and inspiring. Fans can look forward to a complete album filled with songs of healing and deliverance, as well as her fifth headline show.
