Two-Time Grammy Nominee Blessing Offor Honors Mother With New Song 'Crying Out Loud'

Jul 19 2025

Two-time GRAMMY Nominee Blessing Offor has released a new song from his highly anticipated album, Real. The song is, as Blessing states, one of the most personal songs on the album. A bright piano melody belies the intensity and emotion of the lyrics, and the conscious decision to preserve the imperfections of the vocal performance craft the moving tribute to his mother.

“As a man, crying seems almost subversive,” shares Blessing. “At my mom’s funeral, my brothers and I had our arms around each other crying. This guy said to us, ‘It's not the time for that. Get it together.’ I yelled, ‘Are you really telling us not to cry at our mom’s funeral?!’ This love, tragedy, and loss is big enough to cry over. It’s pulled from every feeling I had about my mom.”

'Crying Out Loud' is the latest single from Real, following the overwhelmingly positive response to “Lift Me Up,” “The Morning,” and “Real”. Working with co-writers including Hank Bentley (Crowder, Brandon Lake) and Fraser Churchill (Charlie Puth, Flo Rida) as well as producers including Henrick Michelsen (BTS, Little Mix) and Morgan Taylor Reid (Michael Bolton, American Authors), Real explores darker themes of loss and heartache while still infusing the relentless optimism that courses through Blessing’s veins. Real will be available on August 8th and is available for pre-save.
