Shine Through This seamlessly merges emotional lyrics with heavy hard hitting riffs, orchestral and electronic synth arrangements accompanied with Colton’s melodic vocals. His wife Hannah is featured in the writing process, as well as his brother Brady, who has written the drums on the re-envisioned songs of their former band, Twice A Year.
Colton describes the intention of the music as creating a melancholy atmosphere which takes you on a journey where you can share the emotion with him in each song. That could be grief, sadness, disappointment, anger to happiness, hope, and courage. No one is really alone.
Colton records, produces, mix and masters all of his own songs.
His biggest influences to his writing style comes from bands such as Breaking Benjamin, RED, Decyfer Down, Skillet, Love and Death, VOLA, Spoken, Sent By Ravens, Seventh Day Slumber, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Demon Hunter.
