Pat Barrett Releases 'Break Open' From Upcoming Live Album
GRAMMY-nominated artist Pat Barrett eagerly awaits the release of his new live album, Break Open, releasing one month from today on March 13th. Today, Barrett releases the title track "Break Open," along with a live video of the recording captured at Big Church Day Out in August 2025 in the UK.
"This song is long-awaited on my end, and I’m so stoked it’s out," shares Pat Barrett. "I’ve recorded it twice before, but it just never lined up to be the right thing or the right time. I look back, and I’m honestly blown away at how grateful I am that this song was recorded when it was, so it could be on this project. I’m praying for what Paul prayed in Ephesians 3: that this song somehow helps us 'grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.'"
Break Open is the live expression of Pat Barrett’s latest studio album, I’ve Got A Fire. While recording the album, Barrett found himself continually anticipating the moment he could sing these deeply meaningful songs in a room filled with people. What he didn’t realize at the time was that the first live experience would become one of his favorite musical memories. Capturing that long-awaited moment, Break Open features many tracks from I’ve Got A Fire, bringing their full range of joy and depth to life with a new energy that only a live setting can create.
Next month, Barrett will continue on Brandon Lake’s “King of Hearts Tour.” The extensive arena run spans 50 dates, kicking off last year and concluding May 2, 2026, in Charleston, South Carolina.
