ALTIRA, Led by Former Fireflight Singer Dawn Michele, Releases New Single 'Black Hole'

Mar 08 2026

ALTIRA, the Christian rock band founded by former Fireflight vocalist Dawn Michele, releases their powerful new single 'Black Hole' today through The Fuel Music. Blending soaring vocals, driving guitars, and an emotionally transparent message of redemption, the track reminds listeners that God’s love remains constant even in life’s darkest seasons.

Written by Dawn Michele and Josiah Prince, “Black Hole” explores the struggle many people face when they feel isolated, overwhelmed, or misunderstood. Inspired by Romans 8:38-39, the song reflects the truth that nothing can separate believers from the love of God.

The song’s lyrics capture the tension between inner turmoil and the healing power of grace. In the chorus, Michele sings:

“You, you were the one who wouldn’t give up on me
You were the sun pulling me back from the black hole.”

“Black Hole” ultimately tells a story of rescue-of being pulled back from emotional darkness by a love stronger than fear, doubt, or pain.

Founded by Dawn Michele, the longtime lead vocalist of Fireflight, ALTIRA was born out of a mission to confront fear and restore hope through music. The band’s vision is rooted in addressing the anxiety and uncertainty that have become widespread in recent years, encouraging listeners to replace fear with faith and trust in God’s promises.

“Real people have real problems that can’t be solved by clichés or by people just pretending to care,” says Michele. “God is faithful in His love for us, and we can count on Him to stand by us even when the people around us fade or turn away.”

ALTIRA is currently bringing their music directly to audiences across the country, appearing on select dates of Seventh Day Slumber’s The Beautiful Madness Tour, alongside fellow artist Magdalene Rose. The tour continues to introduce ALTIRA’s music and message of hope to audiences nationwide. Additional appearances are planned later this year, including performances alongside Disciple.

With “Black Hole,” ALTIRA continues building momentum in the Christian rock community while delivering a message that resonates with listeners facing personal struggles.
