A Story of Pain, Faith And Purpose - Nashez Returns With Deeply Personal EP 'Scars & Scriptures'

Mar 26 2026

Christian rap artist Nashez makes a powerful return with his brand-new EP Scars & Scriptures, a deeply personal yet sonically versatile project that explores pain, perseverance, and unshakable faith.

The title Scars & Scriptures carries a clear message: nothing is too big for God. The project highlights how trials and tribulations shape character and prepare believers for the blessings ahead. At its core, the EP is about stubborn faith choosing to trust God fully, even in the lowest moments.

This is Nashez at his most vulnerable. Across the project, he opens up about real-life experiences of feeling depressed, anxious, isolated, and questioning purpose. From being bullied in high school to betrayal from close friends, no topic is avoided. Yet the EP doesn’t dwell in darkness; it tells the story of turnaround, growth, and ongoing transformation. It’s a reminder that pain is temporary, but joy in the Lord is eternal.

For over eight years, Nashez was one half of gospel rap duo Motive & Nashez, a journey that saw major radio play, international ministry opportunities, and even a standing ovation on Britain’s Got Talent. While that chapter was life-changing, stepping away allowed him time to reflect, grow, and wait until he truly had something to say. Now, he returns as a solo artist with clarity and conviction.

Sonically, Scars & Scriptures showcases versatility. The EP blends real rap, Afrobeat influences, melodic rap, and heartfelt moments offering both high-energy tracks and deep reflective records. It is not feature-heavy; instead, it centers on Nashez’s voice and story, allowing listeners to connect with him more personally than ever before.

One standout track, “Counting On You,” draws inspiration from Proverbs 3:5 urging believers to trust in the Lord with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding. The song captures the essence of the EP’s message: complete surrender and unwavering trust.

The project was brought to life at Lcamz Studios, with engineer Leon (Lcamz) playing a key role in shaping its sound and fully realizing the vision. The EP also features Nola Muu on the lead single “Where Would I Be,” alongside support from the Hope to the World team and management.
More than streams or accolades, Nashez hopes this EP connects on a deeper level. His prayer is simple: that listeners feel encouraged, experience authenticity, and draw closer to Christ. If even one life is impacted, the mission is accomplished.

Looking ahead, Scars & Scriptures marks a new chapter. Nashez is committed to moving forward guided by faith, not industry pressure. This release has reignited his passion to create, but only in alignment with God’s direction. For Nashez, this isn’t about awards or recognition — it’s about the Kingdom.

Scars & Scriptures is available on all major streaming platforms.
