Ruth A Harris Unveils New Single, 'Release'
Ruth A Harris releases her second single of 2026, titled 'Release', following on from 'Bloodshot Eyes' in January. Both follow themes of struggle in every day life.
"As a female of a 'certain age' many of my songs reflect my struggles with peri-menopause & menopausal symptoms. It’s so isolating when you think you are the only one suddenly struggling with things that you handled easily in the past - and so, I hope that by talking about it, I can help others to feel less isolated.
'Release' started out as a prayer, I was feeling the weight of responsibility and expectations upon me and like I couldn’t cope. I felt pressured, stressed, anxious and like I was struggling to do everything and be everything that I felt I needed to be. Being a people pleaser by nature didn’t help this! I found that the only time that I felt I could be my true self, without performing some kind of role, was on my own, in prayer. This song is a record of me trying to find my place of peace, find release from the worries, and reminding myself that I have somewhere to go where I can find help. I really hope that this song finds others, who like me, need to find peace - peri-menopausal or not!"
