Louder Than The Music

Last week I wrote a review of the album Worship Songs of Grace which is one of the albums from the four part compilation series produced by Kingsway Music. The other releases are called Worship Songs Of Healing, Worship Songs Of Holiness and Worship Songs Of Salvation and all have songs on their respective albums which coincide with the topic of the album.

As I did with the first compilation I reviewed, I looked at what the dictionary said about the topic of the album titles, so here goes with these three: Healing - become sound or healthy again, Salvation - deliverance from sin and its consequences, believed by Christians to be brought about by faith in Christ and Holiness - a life of holiness and total devotion to God. All wonderful strong topics about what God is and can do.

Every album is jammed packed with songs by some of the best and well known worship leaders around at the moment: Cathy Burton, Lex Buckley, Godfrey Birtill, Graham Kendrick, Andy Bromley, Lara Martin, Delirious?, Marc James, Brian Houston, Brenton Brown, Susan Ashton, 100 Hours, Matt Redman and Derri Daugherty. Each of them adding their own songs to the collection that are within the topic.

I always find it difficult to review compilations as basically I am reviewing whether I like the songs hand picked to go with the album, and as they are topic albums, these songs have all been picked with good reason. I have rated these albums in that way, I preferred more songs on the Worship Song of Salvation but the choice of songs on the other two albums are still very good. These compilations are packed with songs old and new, some you will know already and some you might have forgotten about, but are still powerful worship songs. These compilations are well worth checking out if you're looking for songs about a particular part of God's amazing Love.
