All summer long LZ7 have been raising the profile not just of themselves and their new album but of the underground movement of Christians dedicated to letting their faith shine. The Shine Your Light campaign has been encouraging young people to pledge - and then carry out - a set of simple tasks, and then film themselves in action and upload their videos to the campaign's website. A simple yet amazing idea, which is already being well received.

Christian music has always been very good at producing great soft rock worship albums, it has been great at producing big anthemic rock albums, yet in the UK we haven't been very good at promoting and producing great hip hop/dance artists. That is until now. The new album Light is the perfect album to show the world Christian hip hop and dance music is as good as anything out there.
Light is the sound of now, it fits into what is filling the charts at the moment, and what people are buying from iTunes and CD stores. LZ7 have captured the moment, each track on here is either uplifting and powerful with great beats and sounds, or on the other side engaging with heartfelt truths like those in the soft and stunning You.
The album is jammed packed with dominant anthems, soulful dance songs that ooze truthful and honest lyrics. Soul Out and Ditto both sound similar to the tone of Mr Dizzie Rascal who creates amazing party songs. LZ7 have done that, and done it as good as Dizzie can. On the flip side of the style Superstar and Come Alive are more in your face with a sharper edge. These are two songs off the album that you can't ignore.
Party Time sounds like a Black Eyed Peas song, with its beats making you want to move your feet in time, a real club anthem. Then closing track Four Points is another rousing dance track, turn this one up loud and dance like you mean every word. With a great chorus that you will already know, direct powerful dance worship. Amen
LZ7 have produced a stunning album, with songs and sounds for the masses now. If you loved the single, then this album is for you. Produced by brothers Jorge and Obi Mhondera and LZ7's Lindz West himself, they all add their creative edge to these songs. I really think this is just the start of the LZ7 journey, keep watching for the next chapter.
