Review: Various Artists
Women Of Faith And Power

Dec 07 2010

Women Of Faith And Power is a double compilation album that unites some of the strongest female voices in the Christian Music world at the moment. With a massive 28 tracks, which feature Darlene Zschech, Vicky Beeching, Miriam Webster, Kim Walker, Cathy Burton, Lou Fellingham, Kelly Minter, Beth Croft, Susan Ashton, Lex Buckley and others on vocals, you know you're in for a big treat.

This album doesn't just have amazing women vocalists, it also includes some of the biggest songs to be released in the last few years. Take brilliant versions of Shout to the Lord, Yesterday Today and Forever, Might to Save and Hungry and you can start to put together a picture of the album.

As said, there are some well known artists throughout the album, but there a some fresh new names along the way, take for an example Claire Hamilton who adds her own songs to this compilation. Breathe on Me and Lend Me Your Heart are two great songs which fully deserve to be on this album.

Apart from original recordings from these amazing female singers, the ladies have taken some well known worship songs and made them their own. Cathy Burton sings Hillsong's Desert Song, Beth Croft also sings a Hillsong classic in Hosanna and Jenn Johnson has a go at covering Ben Cantelon's I've Found A Love, and what a version it is, easily making it onto my standout tracks.

If you love worship and enjoy hearing powerful vocals, you will love this album. Women Of Faith And Power shows that we are blessed with stunning female vocalists in abundance with each of them adding their own unique style and creativity to the album, this is one top, top album.
