Louder Than The Music

Matthew Thiessen, lead man in Relient K, announced today that they would be starting the recording of a new LP today. Thiessen has been writing lyrics for the disc for a while now and this is coming to flourish now as the band starts putting them down into a recording being produced by Mark Lee Townsend (guitarist with DC Talk and producing many O.C. Supertones, Jennifer Knapp & Relient K tracks)

With this new record Relient K will also be moving away from their old record deal with Gotee Records that was fulfilled with The Birds and the Bee Sides. They plan to release their next disc with Mono vs Stereo, an independent label modelled on Gotee. Relient K have links to Mono vs Stereo, as they have released tracks through them in the past (The Vinyl Countdown 2003), Matthew Thiessen's solo project is signed to them (Matthew Thiessen and the Earthquakes) and Thiessen and Matt Hoopes (guitarist and songwriter) have taken up positions on the MvS team searching for new artists to sign.
