BOSH, [dweeb] & Friends Record 'Fruit Tree' Charity Album
British bands Bosh and [dweeb] have joined forces to produce a special new album titled 'Fruit Tree' to be released in May 2011 with only 600 copies being made available to the public. All of the tracks were recorded specifically and exclusively for the album which is designed to raise funds and awareness for a number of charities. The album will include the new single 'Calling' by BOSH and [dweeb].
"This is a project that is bringing together some of the leading lights and emerging talent in UK Christian music today to answer God's call to JUSTICE", said Dave Griffiths from BOSH. "Fruit Tree was born after conversations I had with friends who work on the frontline of kingdom ministry. 'What can I do?' I prayed, and the answer came to me; get some musical friends to do some gigs and make a record! So, the result is a compilation album featuring some of the foremost acts in the UK - [dweeb], Tom Whitman, Steve Leach, my band BOSH and introducing Adam Oxborrow."
The project will raise funds for The Trussell Trust who run more than 70 foodbanks across the UK feeding people in financial crisis, I*EAT a charity which helps people with Eating Disorders, and the United Youth Development Organsiation which supplies micro-loans to young entrepreneurs in the third world. Fruit Tree will be touring during the summer in partnership with The Trussell Trust visiting theatres, corn exchanges and church halls mainly in the Wessex region, featuring artists from the album.
