Jimmy Needham Launches Kickstarter Campaign To Fund New Album
Houston born singer/songwriter Jimmy Needham has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to fund his new album. The soul-infused jazz and Motown-based singer released his third album 'Nightlights' in 2010 and now plans to record a new album to be released in late 2011.
"It's been 6 years and 3 LP's since I started this journey, and I'd say it's about time for another", said Jimmy. "We're shooting for a Fall '11 release. I'm in the thick of things right now as I am finishing up the writing process, talking to producers, and getting my team together to make this puppy happen. Hopefully you've come to appreciate the time and energy we've put into these albums in the past. I take much care in making the best artistic contribution to my generation as possible, while striving to exalt the person of Jesus in the art I create. Let me just say thanks to you all for your support of my music in previous years, and let me share a way you can help in this new season."
The Kickstarter campaign aims to raise $20,000 to supplement what Jimmy has already set aside to fund the new album. A deadline of 5th May 2011 has been set to reach the target amount. Fans can donate money via Jimmy's Kickstarter webpage and in return will receive one of many 'perks' depending on the level of their donation. Rewards range from a digital download copy of the new record before it's released or autographed copies of Jimmy's previous albums, to personal phone calls, spending time songwriting with Jimmy or an acoustic concert in your home.
