Christian Music Stars Invited To Downing Street

On Wednesday (27th April 2011), British Prime Minister David Cameron held a reception at 10 Downing Street to celebrate Easter. Invited to the exclusive gathering were a number of high profile members of the Christian music industry in the UK.

Posing for a picture outside the famous black door of Number 10, former Delirious? lead singer Martin Smith and his wife Anna commented on Twitter, "Anna and I went to 10 Downing St and met the prime minister. Nice canapes".

Also invited were renowned singer/songwriter and worship leader Graham Kendrick, MOBO Award winning rapper Guvna B, and the singer and broadcaster Aled Jones. The evangelist Steve Chalke, founder of the Stop The Traffik campaign and a special advisor to the UN on Human Trafficking also attended the reception, writing on Twitter: "Just been 2 reception 2 celebrate Easter @No.10 with the PM. He said 'We all know it was Jesus who really started the Big Society.'"
