Louder Than The Music

Stu G, former guitarist of British worship band Delirious?, has released his first ever solo album. 'Of Burdens, Birds And Stars' is a collection of 6 songs written over the past four years since Delirious? ended.

"These are story songs or what I call 'therapy' songs", Stu told Louder Than The Music in an exclusive interview. "I didn't keep a diary in that time but I did write these songs. I didn't think that I would ever record them but as time went on I realized that they had life to them."

"So the things I've been struggling with and figuring out, well, maybe others are doing that too and maybe these can help people on their journeys.

There's songs about relationship breakdowns, there's a love song, a prayer song for a friend whose marriage ended, a song about my daughter spreading her wings and leaving home and a song about the fact that we don't have to do life on our own."

Stu G is also a member of worship collective One Sonic Society, and his solo EP was co-produced with fellow band mate Paul Mabury, who also plays drums on the release.

The EP features co-writes with Mabury, British singer/songwriter Shane Beales and Hillsong's Mia Fieldes. 'Of Burdens, Birds And Stars' was funded through a successful PledgeMusic Campaign and can now be downloaded on iTunes and Noise Trade.

"One thing I know to be true, I'm not done with the guitar or writing songs yet", adds Stu. "I'm so grateful for what I've been a part of but I know 'there's more where that came from'."
