Cathy Burton Returns With New Album 'Searchlight'

Oct 13 2014

British singer/songwriter Cathy Burton will release her fifth album 'Searchlight' on 10th November 2014, her first new album in over four years.

Crossing musical genres this album debuts Cathy's roots as a classically trained pianist, writing 'Searchlight' entirely on the piano. The sound however exploded in the production process with live musicians and programmed instruments interweaving throughout the material. As well as this, the album has been crafted back to her organic story-telling style, resonating with some of her early work on 'Burn Out'.

'Searchlight' captures undiluted songs from the heart, with tracks such as 'Where is that girl?' autobiographically leading the listener back to the heart of Cathy's honesty and vulnerability as a writer; A song that also acted as a starting point for Cathy on this project.

It has been four years since Cathy released a studio album but life has been far from quiet. Now as a mother of three, a successful vocalist and writer in the electronic dance music (EDM) scene and fully involved in a vision shared with husband (and producer) Paul's call to work for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) in Africa on the horizon.

1. Searchlight
2. Cage
3. Girl
4. Gun
5. Time
