Hip-Hop Artist Damac Releasing 'Journey'

Nov 01 2016

Independent Hip-Hop artist Damac, real name Michael Lacoste, is releasing new project titled JOURNEY. It will be available at most digital outlets on November 15, 2016.

"JOURNEY is seven songs of self reflection, hope, faith, collaboration, and transparency", explains the artist. "I blended different styles to create this record. We used EDM, Dirty South, R&B, and several other styles. We created this record because EDM is really popular in the club scene. I wanted to make a type of record that you don't see a lot of rappers doing quite yet.

I grew up in St. Louis, MO. My childhood home is about 15 minutes away from Ferguson. People often ask me about my thoughts concerning recent events, so I made a song about it.

I wanted to make rap music that glorified God because He has done so much for me. The least that I can do is to make music in His honor. I want to make music to reach people that were like me growing up. There are a lot of people out there who aren't being reached. There are so many people who are looked over and forgotten about because they're considered to be "hopeless." I want this music to give them hope."
