KDMusic Releasing Debut Album 'Sunshine for Rainy Days'
KDMusic releases its full-length debut album 'Sunshine for Rainy Days' this October. The album includes the recent singles 'Come Lord Come' and 'Christmas On The Beach', and was pre-released at the Keswick Festival, Portstewart, in July.
KDMusic are Dave Whitcroft (Songwriting, vocals, guitars & bass), Gillian Brown (Vocals), Sarah Whitcroft (Vocals & graphic design), Ian Hannah (Piano, Rhodes & Hammond), John Hegarty (Lead Guitar), Rick Swann (Brass), & Gwyneth Reid (Cello) from The New Irish Choir & Orchestra.
Discussing 'Come Lord Come', KDMusic's Dave Whitcroft explains, "It's a cry of personal worship based on Psalm 19 Romans 11, inspired when our lead singer's personal experience of intense homesickness, reminded him that scripture says all of creation longs painfully for the Lord's return.
Our music is rooted in Co. Down, & Co.Mayo, Ireland, with stints in Belfast, London & Jamaica. Our styles are diverse, but held together by finger-style guitar. Keep an eye out for our Autumn 2019 gig in Belfast to launch the full album."
'Christmas On The Beach' was inspired by an epic 3,000 mile bike journey across Africa! Simon & Olivia, from N.Ireland & Denver, Colorado, set off from their Zambian cousin's wedding at Victoria Falls. The post wedding adventure - to cycle a meandering 3,000 miles, for 4 months through 7 countries & make Cape Town in time for Christmas On The Beach! The music video (see above) charts the joys & challenges of their bike journey. From the spectacular Devil’s Pool in the middle of Victoria Falls it follows their ? shaped route through: Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia & South Africa to Cape Town. The song and their journey are full of the joy of sharing life’s adventure together, and with the people they meet.
