Review: Live Worship
The Years Best In Celebration
There is nothing more special than being with a group of Christians worshiping God through singing, all in one place and all singing from the same hymn sheet. From arms being held high in praise to being facedown in worship for the reason were all here, worship is powerful and something we shouldn't take lightly.
"Live Worship / The Years Best In Celebration" is a wonderful collection of thirty tracks taken from eight of the most powerful live albums recorded at events across the country this year and, as Jonathan Brown from Kingsway says, "As a double album Live Worship shows just how healthy the Church is sounding right now". And he isn't wrong.
2009 has seen some amazing live albums, and the best tracks from those albums feature on this new compilation. Tracks are taken from "My Soul Sings" by Delirious, The Soul Survivor "Not Ashamed" live worship album, the Revive" album from Mission:Worship, "No Shout Too Loud" from New Frontiers event Newday. But also tracks from "Have You Heard" the latest live album from "Church of Christ the King in Brighton", Tim Hughes' Shepherds Bush Empire live album "Happy Day" and "Redeemer" from Grace Church in Chichester.
As you can tell this year has seen some amazing live albums released, and in simple terms that is what this album is, a selection of the best tracks from the releases this year.
If you have bought a couple of these albums during the year, purchasing this collection might make you feel short changed, But as a collection of tracks together on a double CD, Kingsway have done an amazing job. If you want a best of live tracks from 2009, look no further, here it is.
