Alive City Releasing 'Lay 'Em Down'

Aug 19 2020

Alive City, an independent Christian band from Detroit, MI, release their new single 'Lay 'Em Down' on September 4th. "The world is heavy. Sometimes the weight seems unbearable", explains Alive City. "2020 has been a difficult year to say the least. Injustice. Pandemic. Division. It's all too much to carry alone. That's why Jesus said 'Come to me all you who are weary and heavy-burdened, and I will give you rest."

"'Lay 'Em Down' is about being at the end of your effort... at the end of yourself... and leaning into Jesus", they continue. "Your plan is too heavy to carry alone - but the good news is that you don't have to! This is the story of the Gospel, and this is the story of 'Lay 'Em Down'."

Built in Detroit, Alive City brings a new brand of pop music to the scene. It’s filled with passion, detail, and grit - fused with Soul and Conviction. Alive City’s music unashamedly proclaims the message of the gospel in a way that resonates with the entire family.

Fronted by brother/sister duo, Zachary and Maddy Joy, Alive City is a young band of friends who’ve grown up together writing and producing their own music while trying to figure out life, God and faith. They write music for their generation - one looking for a new sound with a bold message of hope in a broken world.
