Apr 12 2010

Jars of Clay are currently hard at work in the studio recording their next full-length album, which they have revealed will be titled 'The Shelter'. The four piece rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, are also releasing a series of live digital EP's this year. The first EP, 'Live at Gray Matters, Volume 1: Songs From The Long Fall Back To Earth' was released in February, with volume 2 due during the Spring, volume 3 in the Summer and volume 4 in the Autumn.

Each EP in the series contains five audio tracks plus an accompanying performance video of the band recording the songs inside the Nashville headquarters of its self-formed record label Gray Matters. Says the band, "Live At Gray Matters Volumes I-IV will bring listeners new audio/video recordings of some of their favorite songs from the Jars of Clay repertoire."

The band are nominated in six categories for this year's GMA Dove Awards which takes place later this month: Artist of the Year; Group of the Year; Song of the Year for 'Two Hands'; Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year for 'The Long Fall Back To Earth'; and 2 nods for Recorded Music Packaging of the Year for the standard and limited editions of 'The Long Fall Back To Earth'. Jars of Clay will also be touring with Brandon Heath later in the year.
