The context of the song is that by allowing ourselves to get ‘caught up’ in the love of God on earth, in this lifetime, we will then be ‘caught up’, to meet him in the air when he returns. However, there is a constant battle that is going on around us. We can’t be ‘caught up’ in God’s love in Christ and be caught up in the world at the same time. Our faith in the Son of God is that which enables us to get ‘caught up’ in Christ, in the love of God, rather than in this world. (1 John 5:4-5) ‘For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Hence, why the song is called, Follow Christ.
