Robert Peterson and The Crusade Release New Single 'Eye On The Sparrow'

Sep 11 2025

Robert Peterson and The Crusade has released their latest single, Eye On The Sparrow, to Christian radio. The track appears on the group’s forthcoming album Change Coming On and is making its way to Christian Alternative Rock and Christian AC formats with a message that is both raw and redemptive.

Nearly all acoustic, Eye On The Sparrow strips back to simplicity in order to spotlight a message that cannot be ignored: the Lord sees, knows, and deeply cares for those who feel forgotten. Written and produced by Robert Peterson, the song reaches into the hearts of individuals wrestling with loneliness, despair, or even suicidal thoughts, offering the hope that life is worth living because Christ has already given His life for them. Peterson sings with conviction, “I have often cried for you, don’t you know I died… for you,” a lyric that cuts to the soul with both tenderness and urgency.

Peterson performed nearly every instrument on the recording, as well as all the vocals, with the exception of two guest contributions by Jack Vondrachek, who added a fourth acoustic guitar layer in the chorus along with the electric bass guitar. The result is a textured yet intimate arrangement that blends melody, harmony, and authenticity into an unforgettable soundscape.

Robert Peterson and The Crusade was born out of an inspired vision that began in St. Paul, MN, and now continues from their home base in Joplin, MO. Peterson, a guitarist and songwriter who balances his career as a federal biologist with his passion for music, has cultivated a catalog that reflects both thoughtful craftsmanship and spiritual depth. With memorable hooks, layered harmonies, and lyrics that speak to the broken, The Crusade embodies more than just a rock band. It is a musical mission - a Trojan horse carrying truth and hope to anyone willing to listen.

With Eye On The Sparrow, Robert Peterson and The Crusade remind listeners that God’s love rains down even in the darkest alleys and loneliest places. The song is both a comfort and a call, echoing the eternal promise that no one is ever truly forgotten.
