Interview: McCloud & Truex
Renowned musical duo Caspar McCloud and Renae Truex have released their new Christmas single, "Joy To The World." Louder Than The Music caught up with them both to find out more about the song, their plans for next year, and to discuss all things Christmas!
Hi Caspar, you've just released 'Joy To The World' with Renae, tell us what made you decide to record a Christmas song?
PC - The inspiration to record a Christmas song came after we gave a performance last year at a concert. We received an invitation from a Texas ministry who were in the audience to appear on their Christmas special. This led us to choose ‘Joy To The World’ as a tribute to the true meaning of Christmas. We felt led to do this as a duo and perform the classic carol acoustically, reminiscent of our previous duet albums, "Outstanding in Their Field Volumes 1 and 2." We also felt an acoustic arrangement resonated perfectly for this Christmas broadcast, and we got such a lovely response, so we decided to release it as a single.
In light of recent societal challenges, we would also emphasizes the importance of embracing and sharing the message of joy and hope during the holiday season. “In a world dominated by what some are now calling 'BioDigital Convergence' along with the growing global tensions, orchestrated by globalist, transhumanist psychopaths, along with the Gates of Hell Foundation and our Fabian Prime Minister and cabinet, I would say it's quite crucial to reflect on the joy found in our faith. James 1:2 encourages us to consider our troubles as opportunities for great joy.” Whatever day the Lord Jesus was actually born on we must focus on that joy as we stay aware of the spiritual disconnect felt by many today, especially among younger generations. Research from a U.K. company, OnePoll, indicates that as many as two in five British millennials are unaware that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the infant in Nativity scene displays. Providing you can still have such a display in UK that isn’t offending someone from other cultures, nudge, nudge say no more…. It's vital to share the story of the virgin birth, as it is foundational to Christianity.
“Isaiah 7:14 prophesies that a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, which is the fulfillment of God’s promise to humanity.” This Christmas, as the world faces uncertainty and challenges with all the Globalist transhumanist psychopaths, we invite everyone to reflect on the incredible story of Jesus' birth, which embodies joy and hope and agape love. “Even amidst the looming 'New World Order' and digital transformations, the birth of our Saviour reminds us of God's unwavering presence and the joy He brings.
The lyrics and music for “Joy To The World” is a timely reminder of the supernatural peace and assurance found in our faith, and we hope it will inspire listeners to embrace the message of joy during this festive season and throughout the year.
Renae -I sincerely believe that the Lord has put us here to spread absolute joy through our music no matter where we may be. We are called to be a light shining in the darkness and we are indeed in very dark times. I definitely agree with Caspar regarding the choosing of this particular piece in it being a reminder of the supernatural peace through our faith that God gives us. This is even more so important given the times that we are in.
Might we see the full McCloud Band releasing a Christmas song next year?
Renae -I think it would be awesome to do an entire Christmas record!
PC- All things are possible with our Lord. I do have some ideas for some original music in that direction.
Which are your favorite Christmas carols to sing at a carol service?
Renae - Of course “Joy To The World” is one of my favorites.
I like “Little Drummer Boy” as well because it talks about musicians having no gifts to bring except their playing.
“Oh Come Let Us Adore Him” is another.
“Silent Night”
“Oh’ Holy Night”
PC- Agreed, I can relate to the Little Drummer Boy,
Some of my favorites are; what we did recording
Joy to the World! The Lord Is Come.
Along with such traditional songs as,
O Come, All Ye Faithful
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
The First Noel
Angels We Have Heard On High
Silent Night, Holy Night
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
O Holy Night
God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
Christmas is often a time of traditions and family time - what Christmas is like in your households?
Renae -When I was a child, my brother and I would be so excited for Christmas morning. It was always nice to see and visit with the family. My husband and I travel home to West Virginia every Christmas to visit and spend time with my mom, dad and family. My mom makes a wonderful dinner and up home everything slows way down, which I think is a good thing given the schedule that I keep back in Nashville. We sit and visit quite a bit! It’s a precious gift.
PC – I miss having Christmas in England, I mean, what would we do without our traditional Yorkshire puddings, and those dense fruit cakes to enjoy on Christmas Day with our Christmas crackers pulled at the start of the meal. It’s also such a lovely time to gather the family together and exchange gifts. For years we all come together and listen to her majesty’s speech, share some passages from our Holy Guide Book to the Supernatural, and pray about what we could give the Lord Jesus, who has everything. Like the Little Drummer Boy, what can we give as a musician, what gift would He want, and we know that the gift is that we live a life that glorifies the Lord.
Growing up as an equestrian, Christmas was always a time to go riding when hardly anyone else would be out, especially when it was a white Christmas, and the world was covered in snow.
To this day, I traditionally go off and ride my horse for a few hours whilst my wife and kids are engaged with relatives and extended family.
Sadly, my 29-year-old horse unexpectedly passed away a few weeks ago. I had adopted him as a two-year-old, just after we moved here. I am grateful he went quietly in his sleep, as there was no sign of struggle. I am thankful for the times we had, nearly 28 years together, and for my equestrian neighbours who took care of all the arrangements, finding me overcome with grief.
It just gutted me to lose him, and I wrote a song called Losing You the next day. Renae encouraged me to keep channeling those emotions into songwriting. We put the song out as a video.

As a pastor, I find that there are many who are in need of encouragement, especially at this time of year. Boxing Day was designed to help bless others in need.
Most of us don't actually need a Christmas present; we need the Holy Spirit Christmas presence, a supernatural connection. In these unprecedented times, many need to be reminded of what this season is all about. It is not about material things such as receiving and giving presents. It is truly about the most incredible gift of all, eternal salvation. Our Holy Guide Book to the Supernatural says it this way.
Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
In other words, the Lord our God offers us our salvation as a free gift. It isn’t something we can buy or earn by being extra good. There are probably people in your life that you love so much that you have given them some expensive gifts at times. They accepted the gift without any strings attached because they knew you gave it out of love. It was a free gift to them; however, it may have cost you a lot to purchase it for them, maybe you even had to sacrifice and save for their gift.
The same principle applies here to God’s gift of salvation. To all who will receive this amazing gift of mercy, grace, and love, it’s free, but it cost our Heavenly Father the life of His only begotten Son. That word begotten means the one and only. The reason is that on the cross, Jesus Christ of Nazareth became the final sacrifice for all our sins. He paid in full, meeting all the requirements to purchase our salvation with His blood sacrifice. Like any other gift we might give each other, God’s gift of salvation doesn’t become ours until the moment we accept it.
As you look back on your year in 2025, which highlights stand out for you?
PC- I think that 2025 was a significant year, as we are observing all the biblical warning signs being fulfilled. For us as a band we started out with the Stay Awake America tour and the release of our album Beyond Magnificent, because our Lord is beyond magnificent. We received a lot of wonderful encouragement for our music and there are some film projects in the works as a result. Part of our Stay Awake America tour is also my personal quest to help Stay Awake UK.
I do think more people started realising the great deception is starting to play out now that we read about in places like 2 Thessalonians 2 and the great damage that has been done in the last few years that has affected the air, water, and food resources. Considering how the Gates of Hell Foundation continues pushing its agendas like the UNs 2030.
Also, as I warned about in some of my books, like Unmasking the Future, which was published in 2016, we are being subjected to what I call soft disclosures. I was recently on a show and asked if I believed there was life on other planets as it such a vast universe.
They were a wee bit surprised by my response as I think we are being played and manipulated by the official narratives and propaganda films. I mean, even the World Economic Forum gang has openly spoken about how they can now implant false memories, as well as cause pain in individuals if they desire to do so. Now we have hearings in congress, the senate, and the parliament discussing having non-human biologics and craft not of this world.
As a believer, I find it essential to clarify that I do not believe in the existence of aliens—especially sentient beings that could potentially exist elsewhere in the universe, the idea of sentient life fundamentally conflicts with biblical teachings. Genesis 1:26 states that humanity was created uniquely in God’s image, setting us apart from all other beings. The only other sentient entities mentioned in Scripture are angels and demons, leaving little room for the coexistence of additional sentient life forms.
The implications of sentient extraterrestrials also raise numerous theological questions: When were they created? Do they possess eternal souls? Have they fallen into sin? Most importantly, did the Lord Jesus die for them as He did for humanity? Such inquiries create a tangled web of complexities that ultimately weaken the distinctly unique relationship humans share with their Creator, as outlined in our Holy Bible, our Holy Guide Book to the Supernatural.
I am not inclined to accept that some entity traveled millions of light-years away just to tell us we got the wrong information in the Bible.
Galatians 1:8- But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Which begs the question, if aliens do not exist, what accounts for the myriad UFO sightings and abduction claims? If I ask in most churches in the UK and America how many of you have seen strange objects in the sky that you can’t explain, more than half the people will usually raise their hands.
One strong possibility is that these phenomena are not manifestations of extraterrestrial life, but rather deceptions orchestrated by the Kingdom of Darkness's demonic forces. Given that Scripture provides no evidence for extraterrestrial life, it lends credence to the notion that these experiences could be spiritual tricks designed to mislead humanity, who would not receive the Gospel truth.
Scientists who propose theories like “panspermia," which is the idea that life on Earth was seeded by aliens from another galaxy far, far away, often seem clueless to the knowledge given in the Holy Bible. I think their theory aims to address the complexity of biological life while eliminating the necessity of a divine creator. Nevertheless, obviously it merely begs the question of life's origin: If aliens planted life here or elsewhere, then how did they come into existence? This perspective inadvertently reinforces the belief in a higher power rather than negating it.
With the cultural obsession surrounding the potential for alien life today, the distraction takes away from the core tenets of Christianity. Instead of investigating supposed extraterrestrial encounters, we could deepen our understanding of God’s purpose for us as described in His Word. As believers, we are called to focus on spiritual growth and connection with God Almighty rather than getting swept away by speculative theories and taking unlicensed, uninsured experimental injections. I suppose that was more than you wanted to know. I just want to point out how the church ought to be addressing such issues because let’s face we are dealing with numerous deceptions the Lord Jesus forewarned us about, so that we are not deceived.
People’s fascination with things Area 51 and extraterrestrial life captivate millions, and at the same time, they seem to be significantly distracted from the Gospel truths outlined in Our Holy Guide Book to the Supernatural, which provides us all the answers we need in God Almighty's revealed plan for humanity. Christmas is a time to reflect on our unique relationship that we hold with our Creator, seeking to understand His purposes for our lives here on Earth. As we celebrate this Christmas, I pray we all reflect on the rich tapestry of the story that began with the fulfilling prophecy of the virgin birth. We read in places like;
John 1:14, So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
We learn that God Almighty is with us, even in our most challenging moments. The coming “great deception, New World Order/Great Reset,” unfolding before us with the Globalist agenda to enslave the entire world with their digital banking and identification, can not be overshadowed by the ultimate truth of our Saviour's birth. Nor the cosmic seed war that started in Genesis 3:15, giving us the first of many prophecies of victory in Jesus!!!
This Christmas season invites us to embrace the complexities of our faith, our relationships, and societal judgment. Let us find hope in the account of Mary and Joseph, knowing that even through significant difficulties, God Almighty is weaving a narrative that transcends time and transforms lives.
Renae - Indeed as Caspar has said, the Stay Awake America tour has been a wonderful highlight! Also all the lovely music that the Lord has given us. Always thankful to be making music with Caspar and the rest of the group. Current events going on in 2025 have definitely stuck out in my mind. We are to continue to be that light that we are called to be until His return.
No doubt plans are already in place to record more music in 2026? What have you got in store for us?
PC- We have a live album coming out called Stay Awake America that we recorded on the Stay Awake America Tour and after that we have another band album of new original songs scheduled for 2026.
Renae - Yes! Keep your eyes and ears open for our live album! It’s going to be amazing!
