Ryan Daniel Cole Returns After 10 Years with 'Oh What A Day'

Apr 05 2026

After stepping away from music for more than a decade following the end of Among the Thirsty, former frontman Ryan Daniel Cole is returning - not to reclaim a platform, but to answer a calling.

On April 3, Cole will release his debut solo single, “Oh What A Day,” a song written more than 10 years ago and left untouched during a deeply personal season marked by brokenness, healing and spiritual renewal.

For Cole, the silence wasn’t accidental — it was necessary.

After experiencing both the momentum and the pressures of a charting Christian band, he stepped away from the spotlight carrying wounds that would take years to process. What followed was a quiet, often unseen journey of rebuilding — not just as an artist, but as a husband, father and follower of Christ.

Now based in Tampa, Florida, Cole re-emerges with a renewed foundation and a clear sense of purpose.

“Sometimes we hide our gifts when we are hurting or insecure, but don’t hide them forever because those gifts are meant for others — your fruit is not for you,” says Cole.

Blending worship-driven songwriting with modern Christian pop sensibilities, “Oh What A Day” reflects themes of surrender, redemption and trust in God’s timing. The track will resonate with listeners who connect with artists such as Phil Wickham, Cody Carnes and Elevation Worship, while offering a deeply personal testimony rooted in lived experience.

More than a debut, the release marks a turning point.

Where his previous success introduced him to the Christian music landscape, this new chapter is defined by authenticity over ambition — a posture of surrender rather than striving. It’s a return not driven by industry momentum, but by spiritual conviction.

With plans to reconnect with Christian radio and serve the Church through worship, Cole hopes “Oh What A Day” will meet listeners in their own seasons of waiting, reminding them that God’s timing is never wasted — even when it feels delayed.

“Oh What A Day” releases April 3 on all digital streaming platforms.
