Ivey Asher Releases 'Jesus Is A Friend Of Mine'
Ivey Asher continues to roll out new original music through a strategic partnership with VERE Music (ADA/Warner Bros.). Her latest single 'Jesus Is A Friend Of Mine,' is a highly introspective and deeply personal song Ivey co-wrote with #1 Billboard and Platinum songwriter Paul Duncan.
Following the write Ivey began performing the song live on the road where it started strongly resonating with fans. When it was time to take the song into the studio Grammy-nominated producer, Mitch Parks, immediately caught and captured the musical direction.
Ivey shares, “This song has been with me through one of the hardest seasons in my life. I had just lost my church, my friends, my faith… I felt like I had nothing, and I thought God hated me. But somehow in the middle of all the grief and confusion, I knew one thing – Jesus loved me. What started out as a private prayer… a song just for me… became something more. The idea of Jesus being my friend brought me comfort when I felt completely alone.
