Ezra Worship Initiative Releases Majestic New Worship Anthem 'Great And Glorious God' Featuring The Calvin University Gospel Choir
The Ezra Worship Initiative has released its new EP, Great and Glorious God, a four-song collection of biblically rich worship music created in collaboration with the Calvin University Gospel Choir. Blending modern congregational songwriting with the power and warmth of gospel choir arrangements, the project offers songs designed to serve the local church while pointing listeners to the hope, majesty, and faithfulness of Jesus Christ.
The EP features four original worship songs performed alongside a talented group of featured vocalists, including Anne Elise Sherrod on the title track, Rebekah Trapnell on the focus single "Praise Upon Praise," Marco Virtudazo on "Same God," and Alyssa Campbell on "Faithful Through It All." Together, the collection explores themes of God's holiness, His unchanging mercy, the finished work of Christ, and His faithfulness through every season of life.
Leading the release is "Praise Upon Praise," featuring Rebekah Trapnell, a joyful gospel-centered anthem celebrating the endless grace of God and the victory secured through the cross. Written by Coby James, William Stewart, Jimmy Daniels, and Rebekah Trapnell and produced by Chris Springer, the song declares the transforming power of Christ's finished work with the triumphant refrain, "When You said it's finished, everything changed." Supported by the soaring harmonies of the Calvin University Gospel Choir, the song invites believers to respond with grateful worship, offering "praise upon praise" to the One who conquered sin and death.
The remaining songs continue that theological journey. "Great and Glorious God" exalts the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in a majestic declaration of worship rooted in creation and redemption. "Same God" offers an honest prayer of confession and dependence, reminding listeners that God's mercy never runs out. The Ezra Worship Initiative is a 10-week seminary-based internship program dedicated to equipping the next generation of worship leaders through biblical theology, leadership development, musicianship, and practical ministry training.
