Owl City Release 'The Midsummer Station Acoustic EP'

Aug 01 2013

American electronica band Owl City, the outlet for singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adam Young, has released 'The Midsummer Station - Acoustic EP' this week.

The new EP contains acoustic versions of 'Good Time', 'Gold' and 'Shooting Star' taken from Owl City's fourth studio album 'The Midsummer Station', released a year ago, as well as two previously unreleased tracks 'Hey Anna' and 'I Hope You Think of Me'.

The five-track release is Owl City's third EP and follows last year's 'Shooting Star EP'.

'The Midsummer Station' album, released August 2012, featured a duet with Canadian pop starlet Carly Rae Jepsen on the song 'Good Time', which the duo performed live on America's Got Talent.

The album also saw Adam Young collaborating with other artists for the first time, including Relient K lead singer Matthew Thiessen who co-wrote 'Good Time' with Young.

Owl City's 2009 album 'Ocean Eyes' was certified Platinum and has sold in excess of 6 million tracks, including the multi-platinum single 'Fireflies' which reached number 1 in the mainstream charts in the US, UK, Australia, Ireland and Netherlands.
