Daughters of Davis Enter iTunes Chart With 'British Soul'

Sep 04 2014

Fresh from their recent tour opening for Eels across Europe, Daughters of Davis have entered the iTunes singer/songwriter chart at No.9 with their new album 'British Soul', released this week.

Having already secured plays from Clare Balding and Diane Louise Jordan at BBC Radio 2, the title track is lined up for a spin on BBC Introducing at the request of Tom Robinson. The folk/soul duo have also unveiled the video for 'The Trade', the second single taken from the album (see below).

The unsigned sisters from Winchester continue their epic 3-years-in-a-van tour this autumn to coincide with an ambitious campaign through new crowdfunding site Rocket Fuel.

"The inspiration behind British Soul comes from the experiences we've had living on the road and also some of the things we've learnt", explained the duo in an interview with LTTM this month.

"It was pretty hard sometimes, touring and living in the van on a shoestring budget, but we've also experienced a lot of support and kindness, which has really helped us keep going... so this is also our ode to the good British people we have met on the road."
