Delirious? Guitarist Stu G Talks To Greenbelt Website
Ahead of making a rare solo appearance at the UK's Greenbelt Festival later this month, former Delirious? guitarist Stu G has spoken about some of his plans for the future. In an interview for the Greenbelt website Stu confirmed that he plans to continue making music after Delirious? finishes at the end of November.
"Someone asked me last year, 'If there was one thing you could do for the rest of your life, what would it be?'" Stu told Greenbelt.org.uk. "I replied, 'Play guitar!' That was really helpful, because it was before Martin came to us and said he wanted to end Delirious? It kind of gave me a bit of focus. If I want to make this happen; if I want to spend the rest of my life playing guitar, I've actually got to do something about it now. I can't just rely on being in Delirious? for the rest of my life."
Stu has been spending time in America recently where he has signed a publishing deal and has been busy writing songs with various artists. There are also plans in the pipeline for a new band featuring both himself and soon-to-be former bandmate, bassist Jon Thatcher.
Greenbelt takes place at Cheltenham Racecourse between 28th and 31st August and Stu will be playing an acoustic set in the Performance Cafe on Saturday night. It is thought his set will include a combination of Delirious? songs, cover versions and some of his new solo material.
