Review: Bosh
FreE.P.
Bosh, Bosh, Bosh. One of the best independent bands around. Regular listeners of LTTM will know our fondness for these guys. Bosh have produced nine albums/EPs since 1996, gigging up and down the country. They are a band that have been there and done it, and done it some more, and still continue to keep writing and recording great music.

The band are offering a free download of their new four-track EP 'FreE.P.' on their website. Each track is picked from one of the band's last four releases; 'The Proximity Plea' from 2009's 'The Gloaming Hour', 'Blacklines' from 2008's 'Sound the Alarms', 'Seek Ye First' recorded live at Bournemouth's Pier Theatre in 2008 and 'Under The Sun', recorded live at Bournemouth's Green Room venue in 2006.
Why have the band re-released these tracks on a mini greatest hits album? Well to be honest it's all for a bit of a promotional warm-up for BOSH's most important tour to date, the Fruit Tree tour which will run throughout the summer, taking in six dates in July. Bosh have joined forces with a number of other British artists to produce the Fruit Tree album which aims to raise funds and awareness for the charities Trussell Trust and I*EAT. Also featured on the album are [dweeb], Alamein's Torch, The Tom Whitman Band, Steve Leach and Adam Oxborrow. So before they tour that album they decided to give people a small and sweet taste of what they do best.

The 4 tracks the band decided to put out on this Free EP are good choices, all 4 tracks are on the rockier side, but giving the listener a good view of the band's style over the years. The hard hitting Blacklines pounds out with such velocity that you will just be asking for more. The same can be said for the live version of Seek Ye First. The EP ends with the funky live version of Under The Sun, with a slightly cleaner guitar tone kicking the track off, until a guitar solo takes the song to a new level.

Free music from a great British band, you can't go wrong, head over and get it now! British independent Rock showing what it can do, but for me overall if you really want to hear the best of Bosh, head over and grab a copy of The Gloaming Hour and Sound The Alarms.
